An office within the Naval & Military Club

The FAAOA office is located within the Naval & Military Club (In & Out), 4 St James's Square, London. It is open Monday to Thursday from 09.30 to 16.30.

Accommodation at the club is available to members at affiliate rates with special weekend rates for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and Bank Holidays so where better to rest your head after a day’s shopping, sightseeing, theatre and dinner than at the In & Out Club?

Booking MUST be done through the Association office. Telephone 020 7930 7722 or email [email protected] The office can also send members a copy of the room rates.

All club facilities are available to members when staying. The Club is a short stepping distance from the retail heaven of Regent Street and Piccadilly, and for those in need of a bit more culture it is moments away from theatre land and some of the world’s greatest galleries and National collections. The Club has teamed up with Rowley’s in Jermyn Street, offering 25% off food at Sunday lunch. Book in advance on 020 7930 2707 and collect a voucher from the Babmaes Reception within the club.

Social Functions

The FAAOA organises an annual Taranto Night Dinner in London. There are also regionally organised First of the Month Meetings (FOTMMs) in many parts of the UK and abroad. Other dinners and reunions are advertised through the events section but members must log in to the website to view the details.

Serving Others

The Association supports the Fly Navy Heritage Trust helping to maintain St Bartholomew's, the FAA Church; the Historic Flight and the FAA Museum. We helped put the FAA Roll of Honour on-line through the FAA Museum's website.

We have organised the building of two Fleet Air Arm memorials, one on the Victoria Embankment close by MOD Main Building and the other at the National Memorial Arboretum.

We support young people hoping to join the Royal Navy. An annual charity raffle raises money to give grants to Sea Cadet units and our own scholarship scheme. The FAAOA Aviation Scholarship Trust is aimed specifically at identifying and encouraging young people wanting to join the Fleet Air Arm.

A regularly updated website with members-only area

The website provides comprehensive information on the Fleet Air Arm and defence issues. A members-only area has news items not available on the main site with an archive of all previous news items. An admin area means you can check on the latest contact details of your fellow members and update your own.

Members also receive a monthly email with links to stories on the website. Facebook and Twitter pages do not receive the member-only stories and events.

There is an events calendar giving details of course, ship and squadron reunions, dinners, and other events plus a help wanted section where members can seek help from one another to identify pictures, or get first hand accounts for books and research.

You can also find contact details for the organisers of First Of The Month Meetings (FOTMMs); Minutes of Committee meetings and Annual Accounts. There is a member-only section for announcements of deaths, funerals, memorial services and obituaries.

A full colour 60 page magazine

The FLY NAVY News Sheet is published three times a year in January, May and September. In addition to the news and events on the website, there are articles, letters, updates from members, appointments and promotions, application forms for events plus selected news items and obituaries for members who do not have computer access.  The deadlines for the next two magazines appears on the inside front cover of every issue.
