The programme has been announced for the RAeS Applied Aerodynamics Conference 2024: Advancing Aerodynamics - Modern Capabilities & Challenges Anew which will take place on 16-17 July 2024 at No. 4 Hamilton Place, London.
The world faces ever-upwards challenges in Civil and Military Aviation with increasing effectiveness and efficiency being demanded from current and future platforms. Future platforms are also becoming more unconventional, and flight envelopes are being extended in speed and range capability. The focus is naturally on reducing the ratio: mass / effectiveness in air – all this while considering the environmental imperative to reduce green-house emissions. So, Aerodynamics capabilities, both numerical and physical, have to be enhanced in all flow regimes: low-speed, transonic, supersonic and hypersonic. Platforms range from STOVL/VTOL types at low altitudes to hypersonic vehicles in the stratosphere – crewed or uncrewed.
At this two-day conference, with specialist and expert speakers from home and abroad, we will discuss Advancing Aerodynamics – covering current achievements and exploring the horizon.
