So what's it like being a helicopter engineer in the Royal Navy?

A Commando Merlin Mk4 helicopter, from 846 Naval Air Squadron stationed at RNAS Yeovilton made a special appearance at Beaminster School in west Dorset.

The visit was organised by Leading Aircraft Engineering Technician Antony Carlile an aircraft engineer on the Squadron, whose wife works as a teacher at the school.

Thepurpose of the visit was to introduce the students to the Royal Navy and its career opportunities. LAET Carlile shared his experiences as a Navy aircraft engineer and his journey to joining the service.

Following a safe landing on the school grounds, the aircrew provided the students with a tour of the Merlin Mk4 helicopter and gave the senior pupils an opportunity to ask questions about the helicopter and life serving in the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm.
