845 Naval Air Squadron C Flight get adventurous in Singapore

C Flight of 845 Naval Air Squadron has been making the most of Royal Fleet Auxiliary Ship Argus’ maintenance stop in Singapore.
During their time ashore the engineers and aircrew saw the south-east Asian country at its finest while attempting to acclimate to the potent mix of heat and humidity. Kayaking through mangrove
swamps and mountain biking through dense Singaporean wetlands provided an ample opportunity to gel as a unit before flying operations aboard begin to ramp up.
To escape the heat, this physical activity was accompanied by a battlefield tour of the island, focussing on the “Battle for Singapore” fought during World War II. At the Kanji War Cemetery
the squadron took a moment to pay respects to the crew of an 815 Barracuda downed during the battle. 845 Naval Air Squadron had served in the far east during this era, highlighting the significance of the visit.
